Jul 12, 2022 Written by: [Life At ALKU](https://blog.alku.com/alkrew/author/life-at-alku) We sat down with Mark to ask him some of our burning questions! **What is your favorite podcast?** While I listen to podcasts whenever I can – my favorite ever is S-Town. The story is fascinating; filled with twists and turns and gives a great glimpse into the struggles that so many people face quietly, often without anyone else knowing. **Who would you want to have coffee with?** I would love to sit down with my grandfather and just talk. I was his only grandson and he was the funniest person that I have ever known. I’d love to spend an hour just chatting with him. **What ERGs are you a part of?** I have attended every ERG and am so proud of how the employees have led the way and shown ALKU how to be better for our employees. I always say that leadership’s job is not just to make the employees better for ALKU, but also to make ALKU better for the employees. Our ERGs are an example of how we can all play a part in the effort. **What ALKU Gives Back events or programs have you participated in?** I’ve ridden in almost every Rodman Ride, I’ve cleaned a kitchen at the Lazarus House. I try to generously support every employee’s favorite charity or cause. It’s our responsibility to give freely of our time and money if we can. **Are you involved in giving back in your local community?** I do some volunteer service work in the mentoring and recovery communities. **What’s your career theme song?** “Can’t you Hear me Knockin’” by the Rolling Stones **What app can’t you live without?** Love my Apple News Feed. I read 30 to 45 minutes of it every morning. **What is your favorite office lunch spot?** I’m spoiled – almost all of my lunches are at my desk, but the best sandwich ever created is the Tuscan Chicken on rustic bread from Amici’s **What is your go-to pick from the snack closet?** I’m not much of a snacker, but I do love sweets. **How do you Have Fun Working Hard™?** I thrive on the chaos and energy in every ALKU office. The more noise and people, the happier I am. No one ever believes this, but I love being on an important call and having deal music thump in the background – pretty close to bliss. **What is your biggest career advice?** My biggest advice to give anyone is to treat everyone with respect. You never know whose day you might be making or what struggles people are carrying. There’s never a reason to add to that. Say what you mean, mean what you say, but you don’t have to be mean when you say it. **Mark’s Bio:** Mark Eldridge has over 30 years of experience in the staffing and consulting industry. Through his experience, Mark noticed a need for reliable, highly specialized resource services and solutions. This observation led to the launch of ALKU in 2008.
