A global enterprise driving over $125 billion in revenue decided they were ready to undergo a complex commercial AI transformation across multiple facets of their business. For such a transformation to occur within a global business like this, a highly skilled team of specialists is needed to ensure every aspect of the transformation is covered and accounted for. The Challenge: 
AI Transformation Initiative

A global manufacturing enterprise with over 120,000 employees worldwide was embarking on a large-scale commercial AI transformation initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, strategic decision-making, and AI maturity across multiple business units. However, it lacked the internal expertise to identify high-value use cases, align technical capabilities with business goals, and execute AI initiatives across multiple business units.  

The challenge for ALKU’s Data and AI Team became to identify which key positions were needed for this lofty initiative to guarantee a smooth transition and transformation. These positions varied between Analysts, Scientists, Managers, Senior Engineers, Strategists, and Developers to span the whole length of the transformation initiative.   

Firstly, a Senior AI Strategy Consultant was needed to fully comprehend the scope of the oncoming project as well as the qualifications needed by each ensuing member brought on. This consultant would help ensure the overall success of the project from the very start, having been hand-picked by certified ALKU Recruiters and vetted by the enterprise. Once the Senior AI Strategy Consultant was brought on, the dedicated ALKU Data and AI Team was ready to work together with the manufacturing enterprise to get this transformation underway.    

The Plan: 
AI Transformation Experts

The ALKU Data and AI Team started collecting the candidates immediately based on the team member roles identified. Firstly, an Operations Research Scientist was needed to work with the managers and analysts involved to better understand the business problems the transformation would cause as well as come up with hypotheses and data to run tests. An AI Developer would be soon to follow to assist the current team of C3 employees through full stack development in AWS. The ideal candidates were identified, brought forward to the client, and then brought onto the project to get this AI initiative moving.  

After, another Ops Research Scientist and an AI Engagement Leader were brought on board. The scientist would work hand-in-hand with the other project scientists to productionize models and mine data, while the AI Engagement Leader was needed to identify opportunities for value creation, develop transformation roadmaps, and act as a translator between business and technical teams through the strategic use of AI techniques. They would also create success measures and track value creation along the way to present to business stakeholders. Once the team was set in place, the transformation initiative commenced for this gigantic business.

The Result: 
Successful Savings and Value Added

The AI transformation initiative was a resounding success and resulted in savings and added value via a plethora of different avenues. The engagement delivered measurable impact: a network optimization model developed by the Operations Research Scientist generated over $2M in annual value; the AI Strategy Consultant secured executive buy-in for a $5–10M commercial transformation; and the Program Manager implemented automation that produced $250–500K in annual savings. This initiative accelerated AI adoption and drove aligned, strategic innovation across the organization.
