This grant marks the largest donation Boston Partners in Education (BPIE) has ever received from the ALKU Foundation, emphasizing the Foundations’ commitment to uplift youth serving programs that promote equity and social progress for future leaders. “We’re grateful for The ALKU Foundation’s continued partnership and their latest investment in our work, especially at this critical time for our organization,” shares **Erin McGrath, Executive Director of BPIE**. “As we work to cover expenses while building sustainable operating reserves, The ALKU Foundation’s support is more important than ever, allowing us to reach students who need our programs the most.” BPIE is the longest-running continuous nonprofit partner of Boston Public Schools (BPS), offering academic mentoring to students in all grade levels and subject areas. The organization trains volunteers from the Boston community, who commit to spend at least one hour per week working one-on-one or with a small group of students. The ALKU Foundation’s grant comes at a time when BPIE has reached an inflection point; the effect of COVID on both corporate and event-focused revenue models leaves BPIE in danger of pausing operations while rebuilding its financial sustainability. The [Raise Your Hand campaign](https://bostonpartners.org/press-release-bpie-announces-urgent-fundraising-campaign-to-preserve-mentoring-programs/) aims to secure $500,000 for BPIE before January 1, 2024. This funding will go directly to operational expenses and program costs, ensuring that BPIE’s critical academic mentoring programs continue to provide additional support to BPS students throughout the district. “The ALKU Foundation is thrilled to partner with Boston Partners in Education to support students across the Boston Public School district,” said **the** **ALKU Foundation’s Executive Director, Vanessa Plant**. “BPIE provides critical mentoring services to over 1,000 students annually, at no cost to them, providing academic and social-emotional support. The ALKU Foundation believes in the importance of every young person having access to such transformative relationships, and we are honored to support BPIE in their mission.” The ALKU Foundation encourages others to join them in support of BPIE’s urgent fundraising needs. We are a longstanding and trusted partner of BPS, responding to the needs of students and their teachers. We prepare volunteers of all ages and backgrounds from Boston’s diverse neighborhoods to serve as academic mentors to students. Our trained academic mentors work with students directly in the classroom during the school day for at least an hour each week. This type of consistent support can help all students fill academic gaps and build the self-confidence necessary to achieve their goals.[mailto:Bfigueira@thecastlegrp.com](mailto:Bfigueira@thecastlegrp.com) Tags: [Press Release](https://blog.alku.com/news/tag/press-release) [Giving Back](https://blog.alku.com/news/tag/giving-back) SHARE [![twitter](https://blog.alku.com/hubfs/placeholder/x-icon-black.svg)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.alku.com/news/the-alku-foundation-announces-25000-grant-to-boston-partners-in-education&text=%3Cspan+id%3D%22hs_cos_wrapper_name%22+class%3D%22hs_cos_wrapper+hs_cos_wrapper_meta_field+hs_cos_wrapper_type_text%22+style%3D%22%22+data-hs-cos-general-type%3D%22meta_field%22+data-hs-cos-type%3D%22text%22+%3EThe+ALKU+Foundation+Announces+%2425%2C000+Grant+to+Boston+Partners+in+Education%3C%2Fspan%3E) [![facebook](https://blog.alku.com/hubfs/placeholder/facebook-icon-black.svg)](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https://blog.alku.com/news/the-alku-foundation-announces-25000-grant-to-boston-partners-in-education) [![linkedin](https://blog.alku.com/hubfs/placeholder/linkedin-icon-black.svg)](https://www.linkedin.com/sharing/share-offsite/?url=https://blog.alku.com/news/the-alku-foundation-announces-25000-grant-to-boston-partners-in-education) ![ALKU Media](https://blog.alku.com/hubfs/Imported%20images/E07U6PQKU21-U1FRW4YQN-3dfea8b11369-512.png) ### ALKU Media Rebecca Crossley Director, Corporate Affairs & Media Relations (978) 578-4108 rcrossley@alku.com ### More About Press Release [SEE ALL Press Release ARTICLES](https://blog.alku.com/news/tag/press-release) ## Latest Articles [SEE ALL LATEST ARTICLES](https://blog.alku.com/) ### [Life Sciences ALKU Expands Medical Device Specialty Staffing with Strategic Division Split Nov 12, 2025](https://blog.alku.com/life-sciences/alku-expands-medical-device-specialty-staffing-with-division-split) ### [Consulting Resources What Does a Project Manager Do and Why Is It Important?
